Rotisserie restored!
INTRODUCTION: Killer, highly detailed rotisserie restoration! The best I've seen and the ram air with a 4-speed and Sidewinder exhaust makes it a blast to drive!
EXTERIOR: This AMX is likely better than it left the factory! Every inch of the body is straight as an arrow, with panels that fit square and flush. The original Golden Lime Metallic paint is evenly applied, topped with a glass-like polished clear coat. It's a much more vibrant color in the sunlight. The black decal striping, aggressive Ram Air hood and tall rear spoiler give it a commanding presence.
The chrome has been replaced, stainless is polished like new, and the weatherstrips and windshield are fresh. A rare 1970-only Sidewinder exhaust adds an unmistakable, aggressive note. The wheels have been properly restored and retain the factory colors, wrapped in reproduction wide-oval tires that still show the original tread nubs.
INTERIOR: The interior is minimalistic yet perfectly functional, giving you exactly what you need: bucket seats, a four-speed shifter, and a tachometer. As a true two-seater, it embodies the essence of a classic sports car. The seats have been recushioned and reupholstered, with the seat backs looking like new.
Carpet has been replaced from front to back, and the door panels, headliner, and visors are all in pristine condition. A rim-blow steering wheel adds period-correct flair, and the original 8-track radio remains in place. Rounding out the cockpit, it features a working tachometer and an optional clock, combining vintage style with driver-focused functionality.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: The engine bay is very highly detailed! At its core sits the correct 390 V8, producing 315 horsepower, completely stock with original manifolds, carburetor, and even the spark plug wires. On top, a fully functional Ram Air system is intact, complete with the heat riser tube. Every component is clean, properly fitted, and correct, including the reproduction American Motors belt. Power brakes are in place, and the paint and finishes throughout the bay are beautifully executed, it's mechanical jewelry!
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: It is spotless! Under the trunk lid and in the jamb, the paint is as slick and flawless as the rest of the car. Inside, the metal is pristine with a neatly applied spatter finish, and it comes complete with the collapsible spare, restored rim, jack, and air bottle. New mat, weatherstrip, and decals are all in place, and the optional trunk light adds a functional, period-correct touch.
UNDERSIDE: Underneath, this AMX is fully restored and highly detailed—you'll want to put mirrors under it at shows. The suspension and steering were completely disassembled, prepped, painted, and rebuilt, while the brake system has been entirely redone, featuring front disc brakes for modern stopping power. The fuel system has been replaced, and looking up at the motor, everything is spotless, including the correct starter.
The four-speed transmission and linkage are fresh, and the drive shaft has been restored, leading back to the 3.54 Posi rear end, complete with a chrome cover. Floors, inner rockers, and frame rails are all pristine, painted, and clear-coated, just as slick and flawless as the car's top side.
SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to service the essentials on every car we sell.
CONCLUSION: The AMX is an extraordinary car, most people never have seen one in person! This is the best restored AMX I've seen. The 1970 is the lowest production year of this 2 seater model, and the only year with Ram Air and the optional Sidewinder exhaust. This tough little muscle machine is truly a keeper!
