Classic Car Addict is proud to present this custom 1929 Ford Model A Rat Rod for sale in our Mesa, Arizona showroom. Originally, rat rods were a counter-reaction to the high-priced "customs" and typical hot rods, many of which were seldom driven and served only a decorative purpose. The rat rod's inception signified a throwback to the hot rods of the earlier days of hot-rod culture—built according to the owner's abilities and with the intention of being driven. Rat rods are meant to loosely imitate, in both form and function, the "traditional" hot rods of the era.

A bare-metal cabin has painted accents and woodgrain panels with a Speedway shifter mounted on the fabricated transmission tunnel. It features sport style seats trimmed in black cloth with cross stitching designs. A three-spoke wheel is mounted to the tilt steering column (Uni Steer rack and pinion with Vega mount) and beyond the wheel you have Classic Instrument gauges showing fuel, oil, 140-mph with 8k rpm, temperature readout, and volts.

The Ford steel bodywork is bare metal with a chopped top, panoramic roof with no top, and exposed rivets with real and faux corrosion. The front suspension is a 3-inch Speedway dropped front axle kit, and the rear is also a Speedway with adjustable coilover with a rear Panhard bar (front is solid axle suspension, rear is 4-link). The rear axle is a Ford 9” with dual exhaust. It rolls on 16” Black steel wheel with chrome caps wearing 215/65R15 up front and 275/60R15 out back with DOT of 2020.

Power is from a built 350 V8 TXK suffix code 1975/76 with an aluminum Edelbrock Performer RPM 6089, FiTech injection (Weiand aluminum intake), HEI ignition, electric water pump, electric fuel pump, and painless wiring kit. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a three-speed TH400 automatic transmission and braking is provided by front and rear disc brakes (Speedway 11-inch rotors front and rear).

The vehicle will be sold on a clean Arizona title. Call Classic Car Addict today at 480-256-1459. And please be sure to watch the full walkaround and driving video linked directly to our YouTube channel under Classic Car Addicts.
